DeltaWalker
DeltaWalker is Deltopia’s flagship product for comparing folders and files. The new DeltaWalker now opens in your browser, as DeltaWalker Web Beta 1.
DeltaWalker is now a family of three:
- DeltaWalker Web — the new DeltaWalker, in your browser. Beta 1, available now.
- DeltaWalker Classic — the installed desktop app you may already use. Available today.
- DeltaWalker Desktop — the new DeltaWalker as an installed app. On the way, not available yet.
DeltaWalker Web
Beta 1. Expect rough edges and features still arriving.
The new DeltaWalker runs in your browser. Nothing to install: open it from any computer, and no account is needed to start.
As accounts are connected, signing in will unlock the full set of capabilities. You will still be able to use DeltaWalker Web without one, with some limits.
In Beta 1, you can:
- Compare 2 or 3 folders, side by side
- Compare 2 or 3 files, side by side
- Step through the differences in an open comparison
- Merge by copying a selected difference to the other side
- Review a synchronization plan — preview and confirm Update, Mirror, or Reconcile before anything is applied
- Pick up where you left off — comparisons save automatically and reopen, with a history of past comparisons
- Explore early automation — scripting, recording, a workflow gallery, and guided walkthroughs
DeltaWalker Classic
DeltaWalker Classic is the installed desktop app, currently offered on deltawalker.com as DeltaWalker v3, in Release Candidate 3. It remains maintained and supported, and today it is the most complete, proven DeltaWalker.
- Perpetual license — Classic Pro is licensed for one operating system, chosen at purchase. Classic Oro covers all operating systems. See deltawalker.com for current downloads.
- Existing licenses keep working with Classic, including Standard licenses.
- v3 highlights — image comparison, binary comparison and editing, modern automation, parallel operations, and a modernized workspace.

DeltaWalker Desktop
On the way — not available yet. DeltaWalker Desktop will be the new DeltaWalker as an installed app: the same application as DeltaWalker Web, which is in Beta 1 today. Its first public version will be DeltaWalker Desktop 1.0. More details will follow as it gets closer.
Classic and the new DeltaWalker
The new DeltaWalker is built on a new foundation, designed for the browser and the desktop alike, so the experience will be the same in both. Here is how it differs from Classic.
- Where it runs — Classic is installed on your computer. DeltaWalker Web Beta 1 opens in your browser, with nothing to install. DeltaWalker Desktop, on the way, will bring the same app to your desktop.
- Licensing across operating systems — Classic Pro is licensed for one operating system. The new DeltaWalker’s editions differ by capability and are not tied to an operating system. More licensing details will follow as Desktop gets closer.
- Updates — DeltaWalker Web, now in Beta 1, improves continuously. No big download-and-upgrade cycles.
- Classic is not going away — it stays maintained and supported, alongside the new DeltaWalker. For production work that depends on capabilities the beta does not have yet, Classic is the right choice today.
